Heeding Foreign Policy Journal author Kerry Bolton's sage advice is essential for all of us striving to grok Wot's Really Wot at every level of the current local, national and geopolitical landscape.
Whether its the Mar-a-Lago Raid, or Ukraine, or Nancy in Taiwan, or keeping California’s Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant running, or medical martial law, or the attempted Covid Coup, or the next election, looking past the Monkeys to the Grinders is the best defense against the latest psyop in the current cascade.
The resources below will be helpful to those with the cognitive bandwidth. Oligarchy is the key concept.
“One Belt, One Road”, China, Globalization and the International Oligarchy
By Kerry R Bolton | Oct 19, 2017 |
[Snips] - What was once called “imperialism” is now “globalization”, and China taking a lead is no reason for celebration by opponents of the US's Empire....
The International Forum on Globalzation (IFG) was co-founded in 1993 by author-activist (and our dear friend) Jerry Mander and others. It became an alliance of 60 leading sister and brother activists, scholars, economists, researchers and writers representing 40 organizations in 20 countries. For over two decades it worked to stimulate new thinking, joint activity and public education in response to economic globalization. The IFG held the first-ever Teach-In on the issue of globalization in New York (1995), followed by Washington, DC, (1996), Berkeley (1997), Seattle (1999) and New York (2002).
We were privileged to video and take part in a few of the IFG gatherings that included luminaries such as Vandana Shiva, Maude Barlow, Walden Bello, Andy Kimbrell, Koohan Paik Mander (Jerry's wife) and others.
In 2011, under the directorship of Victor Menotti, IFG published the prescient report, OUTING THE OLIGARCHY - BILLIONAIRES WHO BENEFIT FROM TODAYS CLIMATE CRISIS. Fortunately it is still accessible on-line in many places. That''s the source of the above graphic. An excerpt PDF is attached below: WEALTH, POWER AND THE FUTURE OF THE PLANET: FOUR ARGUMENTS AGAINST THE EXTREME CONCENTRATION OF WEALTH by JACK SANTA BARBARA, PH. D
[The title is an allusion to Jerry Mander's best seller, Four Arguments for the Abolition of Television]
Snip
"The purpose of drawing attention to the oligarchy is to highlight the role the ultra-rich play in the lives of most of humanity, especially the negative role with respect to global inequity, environmental degradation, and the perversion of democracies....
Understanding the unique and powerful role of the oligarchy is an essential part of addressing our global challenges."
